One of my preaching professors used to say that

 “Some verses need very little explanation but a great deal of application.”

I was recently reading the Psalms from Eugene Peterson’s Message translation when I came across a verse which definitely falls in to that category. Here it is

So remembering the advice of my homiletics lecturer I am not going to try and explain it, I am just going to suggest that we all try and live in the application because I am convinced if we did many of our problems wouldn’t be problems any longer
