CUT SOMEONE, SOME SLACK

“Make allowance for each other’s faults.” Colossians 3:13

The world is full of faulty people, the church is full of faulty people, I am a faulty person, this may not be news to you, but so are you,  so why don’t we all cut each some slack for our faults?

We can so easily get annoyed, upset or with other people because of what they do or don’t do. Faults in others tend to frustrate us but we tend to make allowances for our own faults.

Paul asks us, no he actually commands us to do something different, to treat other people’s faults the way we treat our own faults and make allowances for them.

God’s word is commanding us to instead of getting annoyed with other people because of their faults and flaws, to try and understand the person, try to understand their situation, and cut them some slack.

Essentially, we are being called as the church to be a community of toleration.

So next time you feel your frustration level rising with someone, cut them some slack, just like you do for yourself.
